Breathe deeply in the Room of Tranquility

Room of Tranquility: a place to pause and relax. Zurich-based artist Hans-Peter Kistler created the very special atmosphere. Room-high panels of fabric, epoxy resin, dyed with pigments from around the world, screen the windows.  The resulting optical effects change with the light, producing a drama of magical power.

Open atmosphere, wide vista: the lounge on the 9th floor is the most diverse space at the Placid Hotel Zurich. Inviting guests to relax and unwind, it is an informal place to chat and relax. Use the business corner with notebook and printer and serve yourself with fresh fruits and tee which are free of charge.

With "Max" and "Marlene" - our design bikes of the brand "Zweiradgeber" - you can discover Zurich in a very individual way. The bikes were specially made for the Placid Hotel and are always ready for you.

Our spacious urban garden terrace is an oasis of peace in Zurich-Altstetten. The terrace invites you to linger - whether to eat, drink or to recharge your batteries. The terrace with its unique flair is divided into a restaurant area as well as an open area and is also equipped with a children's playground.

With the Placid E-Scooter - the electrically driven scooter - the city of Zurich can be explored in an environmentally friendly, quiet and effortless way.

Riding the e-scooters is a lot of fun and it is allowed to ride on bicycle paths.

Local recreation area Üetliberg

Zurich's local mountain with an altitude of 870 m above sea level is a popular local recreation area and is located within 2km walking distance from the Placid Hotel Zurich.

From the summit, there is a magnificent panoramic view of the city, Lake Zurich and the Limmat Valley, as well as the Alpine panorama. There are numerous hiking trails, mountain bike trails, themed hiking trails and children's playgrounds to discover.
